I lived paycheck to paycheck my whole life. I got tired of it.
This isn't a finance blog written by someone who's never worried about the electric bill. It's built by a Gen X career woman who's been in the same spot you're in — and finally decided to do something about it.
By day I'm a career woman. By night I'm a grandmother. And for as long as I can remember, I've lived paycheck to paycheck — robbing Peter to pay Paul, hoping the numbers work out this time, and feeling that same knot in my stomach when they didn't.
I got tired of struggling. I got tired of not knowing where my money was going. And at work, I'd watch a lot of money just fly out the window — unnecessary fees, forgotten subscriptions, bills nobody actually read. It hit me that the same thing was happening at home.
It's time we all buckle down and see where our money is really going. You'll be surprised when you dig in. Read your utility bills. Not just the total — the line items, the fees, the charges you've been paying for years without questioning. You'll be so impressed by what you learn about what you're actually paying for.
That's why I built MY Consumer Compass. The 12-step plan on the home page is the exact process I used to stop guessing and start knowing — how much I have, what's due, and how much I can actually spend this week without going under.
“You'll be so impressed on what you learn that you're paying on.”
Where to start
You don't need my whole story to get going. Pick whichever feels least scary:
I'm not a financial advisor — just someone who finally got tired enough to pay attention. Everything here is for educational purposes only.
